For use from 10 days post-surgery, when the incision wound has been assessed by your midwife to make sure it is clean, closed, and dry to avoid any infections. Ensure the area is clean and dry before applying the hydrogel pad. Open pouch and remove the gel pad then peel back the release paper on the side marked (1). Gently place the gel side of the pad directly over your closed incision site. Apply the pad by massaging the area using a smooth motion from the centre outwards before removing the release paper on the side marked (2). For an extra cooling effect, refrigerate unopened pads before use.
To remove, hold the centre of the pad and gently pull the pad edge outward to release the adhesive. Continue to pull the edge, stretching outward (not upward) and in the same direction of any hair growth.
CAUTION: Use only as directed. Keep out of reach of children. For external use only. Suitable for use from 10 days after childbirth or when stitches or staples have been removed or have dissolved. If an infection is present or suspected do not use and seek medical advice. Should sensitivity or irritation occur then stop using and seek medical advice. Wear for a maximum of 72 hours. Single use only. The C-section Hydrogel Pads may rarely cause pain on application, skin reaction, infection, foul odour, edema, ulceration, allergic reaction or skin damage.

Many other C-section related products on the market are made of silicone which focus more on the aesthetic care of scars (including scar reduction treatment, reducing redness and scar discomfort, improving look & feel of scars). Silicone and hydrogels both provide an occlusive layer over the healing wound, meaning they form a protective layer on the surface of the skin and create a barrier to prevent moisture loss. However, while silicone is a passive barrier, our pads are made of Hydrogel which has a unique polymeric structure allowing it to donate and absorb water- balancing the moisture levels. Hydrogel’s high water content also means they provide cooling relief to the application site.
Our C-section pads can be used for a maximum of 72 hours. Afterwards, the pad should be removed, and a new pad can be applied. Once removed, the pad cannot be reapplied.
The Lansinoh C-Section Pads are latex and DEHP free. If you are concerned you might be allergic to plasters, please contact your healthcare professional before use.
