Amazing !

The Lansinoh Breastmilk Collector is brilliant , I was really impressed with how little effort was involved in using it, i found the product really comfortable to use and it makes no noise which is perfect and even better its a nice size to fit in my baby bag ! Great product thanks

I love it!

I absolutely love the Lansinoh Breast Milk Collector; it’s so easy to use whilst breastfeeding my baby and I’ve been really impressed at how much milk that I can collect and that no longer goes to waste. The breast milk that I collect means that we can go out and I can feed my baby where other wise we may have struggled (eg if we’re on a walk) and it allows my husband to get involved in the feeding too. I used the breast milk collector from when my baby was around 2 weeks old and I use it every other day now!

  • Description:

It’s common for one breast to leak when feeding or pumping from the other side and we think this is such a waste. The Lansinoh Breastmilk Collector is designed to save every last drop of breastmilk you produce, to store for future feeds.

The light, portable and simple to use design means you can take it in your handbag or changing bag when away from home. The hands-free system, simply fits securely onto the breast creating a natural suction; It offers a simple way to collect precious breastmilk, for your little one.

The Breastmilk Collector is suitable for all breast sizes, due to its wide neck and simple suction technique when applying the breast. With the added security of a neck strap, you can wear around the neck to make sure that if your breastmilk Collector is moved, knocked or nudged by baby, your breastmilk will be safe. The Breastmilk Collector can hold up to 100ml (3.5fl oz) of breastmilk.

The cap can be used to keep out dust or as a stand for the base. Alternatively, the base can be secured to a smooth surface with its suction bottom, meaning no more spillages.

Because of the natural way that your body releases breastmilk, the amount of fat in the milk available to baby gradually changes as a feed progresses. We suggest that you mix breastmilk collected with your Lansinoh® Breastmilk Collector with expressed breastmilk to ensure the maximum nutritional benefits when feeding your little one.

If you are struggling to get your milk flow going, why not try a Lansinoh® Thera°Pearl® 3-in-1 Breast Therapy to encourage let down and promote faster milk flow.

    • Is the Breastmilk collector food grade?

Yes. The breastmilk collector is 100% food grade silicone.
    • Is the Breastmilk Collector BPA free?

Yes, the breastmilk collector is BPA and BPS free.
    • Where is the Breastmilk Collector made?

The Breastmilk Collector is made in Thailand.
    • Does the Breastmilk Collector come with a storage pouch?

      No.
    • How do you wash the Breastmilk Collector strap?

We don't recommend you wash your strap.
    • Does the Breastmilk Collector come with a stopper?

      No.
    • Will the lid seal my expressed breastmilk in the collector?

No, the lid will not seal your Breastmilk Collector. It is important that you decanted your expressed breastmilk into a Breastmilk Storage bag or bottle after use.
    • What is the lid for?

The lid is designed to prevent dust and debris entering the Breastmilk Collector when you are travelling. The lid can also be used as a base.
    • How does the Breastmilk Collector work?

The Lansinoh Breastmilk Collector works by fitting securely to the breast, forming an air tight seal. The seal creates a gentle vacuum, collecting breastmilk that leaks from the opposite breast while feeding.
    • Does the Breastmilk Collector come with a lid?

Yes, the included lid is designed to prevent dust and debris entering the Breastmilk Collector when you are not using it.
    • What temperature can the Breastmilk Collector be sterilised at?

The Breastmilk Collector can be sterilised using boiling water (100°C).
    • Can you sterilise the Breastmilk Collector with boiling water?

Yes, we recommend boiling the Breastmilk Collector and lid for 5 minutes before first use. Always wash all components in hot soapy water and rinse in clean water after each use. You may sanitize as required.
    • Does the Breastmilk Collector come pre-sterilised?

No, we recommend boiling the Breastmilk Collector and lid for 5 minutes before first use.
    • Does the Breastmilk Collector still work if you don’t leak from the other side while feeding?

If you are not leaking, the gentle suction may stimulate let-down. You can also encourage flow by massaging your breast or applying gentle, moderate heat to your breast.
    • Is the Breastmilk Collector suitable if you don’t have a fast let-down?

Yes. The Breastmilk Collector is useful to collect any breastmilk from the other breast which would otherwise end in a nursing pad and thrown away
    • Once the Breastmilk Collector is sanitised how long does it stay sterilised?

There is no timeline for how long the Breastmilk Collector will stay sterilised after boiling. If all of the parts are completely dry and the lid is in place it should be fine to use as long as it has not come in contact with any contaminates.
    • Is the Breastmilk Collector dishwasher safe?

Yes, the Breastmilk Collector may be washed in the dishwasher on the top rack only.
    • Will the Breastmilk Collector boost or help increase milk supply?

To increase milk supply a conventional breast pump should be used. The Lansinoh® Breastmilk Collector saves breast milk that would have been wasted when a natural let-down takes place.
    • How should you store the Breastmilk Collector once it has been sterilised?

We recommend storing the Breastmilk Collector in a cool dry place with the lid securely fastened until its next use.
    • Can the Breastmilk Collector be sterilised with steriliser liquid or tablets?

It is safe to clean the Breastmilk Collector in a microwave-safe, steam steriliser bag and special sterilising machine.
    • Can I use the Breastmilk Collector to store the milk?

No, the Breastmilk Collector is not meant to be used for storage. Once the collector is full or you have stopped feeding, pour the collected breastmilk into a Lansinoh® Breastmilk Storage bag or bottle.
    • What should I do with the milk I’ve collected?

Once the Breastmilk Collector is full or you have stopped feeding, pour the collected breastmilk into a Lansinoh® Breastmilk Storage bag or bottle.
    • Does the suction hurt?

No. Make sure you centre the nipple-areola. The key is to get the suction and placement right. If you do that, you’ll be all set!
    • Can I use the Breastmilk Collector while feeding my baby laying down?

Mums have favourite breastfeeding positions, but trying new ones might make the Lansinoh Breastmilk Collector work better. If a mum nurses underarm (rugby ball style), the baby’s body will be on the other side of mum from the breast milk collector which is helpful. Using a feeding pillow to support you and your baby will allow you to adjust to a comfortable position and allow room for the pump.
    • Does the Breastmilk Collector work when I’m feeding my baby in different holds?

Mums have favourite breastfeeding positions, but trying new ones might make the Lansinoh Breastmilk Collector work better. If a mum nurses underarm (rugby ball style), the baby’s body will be on the other side of mum from the breast milk collector which is helpful. Using a feeding pillow to support you and your baby will allow you to adjust to a comfortable position and allow room for the pump.
    • Could my baby pull the Breastmilk Collector off while I’m feeding?

The breast milk collector works by fitting securely to the breast, forming an air tight seal. It seals for easy hands-free suction. If you are using the cradle or cross-cradle feeding position, make sure there is enough room between the breastmilk collector and your baby's feet.
    • Will the Breastmilk Collector work if I have large nipples?

Yes - One size fits all.
    • Does the Breastmilk Collector come in different sizes?

No - One size fits all.
    • Is the Breastmilk Collector suitable for smaller breasts?

Yes - One size fits all.
    • Can I use the Breastmilk Collector to pump when I’m out?

Yes, of course! The Breastmilk Collector is small and portable, so you can take it where ever you go. It comes with a lid to keep it clean while it's in your bag. Just remember to bring a Lansinoh Milk Storage Bag or Bottle to store any breastmilk you collect.
    • Could the Breastmilk Collector be used as a pump?

The Breastmilk Collector could be used in emergencies to collect breastmilk, but this is not its primary intended use.
    • Can I use the Breastmilk Collector while pumping?

Yes - it is perfect to be used alongside a single electric or manual breast pump.
    • Can I use the Breastmilk Collector to collect milk when my baby isn’t feeding?

The Breastmilk Collector is intended to be used while the mum is either feeding or pumping on the other side.
    • Is the Breastmilk Collector suitable for first time mums?

The Breastmilk Collector can be used by all mums and is designed to be used during nursing or pumping to collect milk leaking from the other breast. We recommend baby feeds from both breasts in conjunction with using the Breastmilk Collector.
    • Can the Breastmilk Collector collect hind milk too?

Hind milk is the thicker, creamier breast milk you get at the end of your feeding session. The Breastmilk Collector is designed to collect breastmilk that leaks from the opposite breast while feeding or pumping. This first part of the milk or 'drip milk' tends to be the watery carbohydrate-rick milk, not the fattier, richer hind milk. It is trial and error and will depend on how long your baby feeds and whether you have an overabundant supply of breast milk. You will know if you have collected any hind milk by the colour changing when it is stored in the fridge, and by the size of the creamy layer.
    • Do you need to squeeze the Breastmilk Collector to get it to work?

Yes, gently squeeze the centre of the Breastmilk Collector and place over your breast to form an airtight seal.
    • Can you use the Breastmilk Collector to express colostrum before baby is born?

Colostrum has a different viscosity to breast milk - it is a yellowish, thicker fluid and has a different composition than mature breastmilk. Due to its consistency, we recommend you speak to your healthcare professional for advice regarding collecting colostrum safely before baby is born
    • Does the Breastmilk Collector empty the breast?

The Lansinoh® Breastmilk Collector is designed to collect breastmilk that naturally leaks from the other breast.
    • Is the Breastmilk Collector suitable when I’m feeding an older baby?

The Breast milk collector can be used whilst feeding an older baby. If you have a toddler, you may find it useful to feed him sitting up, facing you.
