C-Section Hydrogel Pads: For use from 10 days post-surgery, when the incision wound has been assessed by your midwife to make sure it is clean, closed, and dry to avoid any infections. Ensure the area is clean and dry before applying the hydrogel pad. Read instructions on packaging before use.

Extra Absorbent Maternity Pads: Unwrap the individual pad and remove the adhesive backing. Place in pants and push down firmly to secure. Replace every 4 hours, or as needed.

Post-Birth Wash Bottle: Fill the perineal cleaning bottle with warm water, screw the cap on securely then extend the nozzle firmly. While sitting on the toilet, place the bottle between your legs and aim the tip of the nozzle towards your perineal area. Squeeze gently while weeing, repeating as needed to clean the area.

Cold & Warm Post-Birth Relief Pad: To use cold: Freeze pad for at least 4 hours before use, then place into a disposable sleeve and apply for 20 minutes for effective perineal, haemorrhoidal or C-section pain relief.

To use warm: Place the pad inside the microwave, lying flat, for 16 seconds at 1250 watts / 19 seconds at 1000 watts / 25 seconds at 700 watts Alternatively, submerge in a water bath that is no longer boiling for 1 – 2 minutes. Always test your warm pad’s temperature prior to use. Place the pad into a disposable sleeve and apply to the abdomen for 20 minutes for soothing relief postnatal uterine cramping.

After each use, thoroughly clean the gel pad with mild soap and water and rinse thoroughly until all soap and residue is removed. Allow to air dry completely prior to next use. Read instructions on packaging before use.

Soothies Cooling Gel Pads: Remove from storage tray and apply gel side down to your nipple. Before breastfeeding, remove gel pad and gently cleanse the nipple if residue remains. Do not apply with nipple cream. Keep in the fridge for extra cooling effect. Can be reused for up to 72 hours in supplied storage tray.

Hot & Cold Breast Therapy: The Hot & Cold Breast Therapy packs can be heated in the microwave for a maximum of 15 seconds or in a hot (but not boiling) water bath to encourage let down. The heat encourages milk flow which means less time pumping the breast. To use alongside a breast pump, just heat the pack as usual then wrap it around the outside of the pump’s funnel, securing it with the fastener.

Alternatively, you can put the packs in the freezer for a couple of hours to cool, then place them into the cover provided to relieve pain and swelling caused by engorgement, or pain relief from mastitis and plugged ducts. The unique design means that the pack is flexible, even when it is frozen.
It is recommended that Hot & Cold Breast Therapy is applied for 20 minutes at a time, as per medical advice. Once used, it can be cleaned with a mild soap, detergent or alcohol.

CAUTION: For external use only. Use only as directed. Always test pack temperature prior to application. Prolonged application may cause injury, including burns. Do not use on infants. Do not use if you have poor circulation. Do not use heat therapy on stitches or an open wound. Do not fall asleep using pack. Keep out of reach of children. For extreme, prolonged or chronic pain, contact your physician. Heating beyond suggested time may damage or destroy pack. Do not puncture pack and/or ingest contents.

Disposable Breast Pads: Each pad is individually wrapped in recyclable woven plastic for optimum hygiene. Simply open the wrapper and unfold the pad, then remove the 2 tapes and secure within your bra or top. Replace breast pads as needed to maintain healthy skin, and ensure the wrapper is kept away from babies and children.

HPA Nipple Cream: Simply apply a pea-sized amount of our breastfeeding cream after every feed or as required to ensure your nipples are protected and healing in-between feeds.

Breastmilk Storage Bags: Simply tear the perforated seal and either pour your breastmilk into the bag or pump directly using a Lansinoh breast pump. Gently squeeze out any air before sealing the top of the bag and write the date and amount expressed on the top tab. This can then be stored in the fridge for up to 6 days or in the freezer for up to 6 months, either laid flat or upright.

Silicone Breast Pumps: Simply squeeze the bottom half of the pump then flip the opening of the pump outwards.  Then place the opening of the pump onto your nipple and flip the cushion back to its original position, covering the nipple area. This will create a gentle, airtight suction to collect your breastmilk. Once finished, hold the bottom of the silicone pump and gently remove from the cushion from your breast and store your milk using our Breastmilk Storage Bags or Breastmilk Storage Bottles in the fridge for 6 days or the freezer for 6 months.

HPA Lanolin Nipple Cream: 100% Lanolin.

FAQ

Our C-section pads can be used for a maximum of 72 hours. Afterwards, the pad should be removed, and a new pad can be applied. Once removed, the pad cannot be reapplied.

Many other C-section related products on the market are made of silicone which focus more on the aesthetic care of scars (including scar reduction treatment, reducing redness and scar discomfort, improving look & feel of scars). Silicone and hydrogels both provide an occlusive layer over the healing wound, meaning they form a protective layer on the surface of the skin and create a barrier to prevent moisture loss. However, while silicone is a passive barrier, our pads are made of Hydrogel which has a unique polymeric structure allowing it to donate and absorb water- balancing the moisture levels. Hydrogel’s high water content also means they provide cooling relief to the application site.

Place one pad inside the microwave, lying flat, for 16 seconds at 1250 watts, 19 seconds at 1000 watts or 25 seconds at 700 watts. Alternatively, submerge in a water bath that is no longer boiling for 1 – 2 minutes. Gently massage pad to evenly distribute heat as indicated by colour-changing pearls. You can add time in 5 second increments until desired temperature is reached. Place the pad into a disposable sleeve and apply the pad for 20 minutes (always test the pad temperature prior to use and allow at least one hour between uses or as directed by your healthcare professional).

Apply your maternity pad first, then apply the Cold & Warm Post-Birth Relief Pad within a hygiene sleeve on top for effective pain relief.

Most new mums will bleed for up to 6 weeks after giving birth so Maternity Pads with wings for extra protection are recommended throughout this period. Maternity Pads will require changing as needed, or every 4 hours, so it’s likely you’ll need around 250 maternity pads over this period.
